The Years of Tony & Liam
Tony, with his usual foresight, realised it was time to level up. But not alone. He needed fresh perspective, someone sharp, driven, and ready to challenge the status quo. As luck would have it, Liam had just stepped away from his previous salon and was looking for his next big move.
Tony made the call. The offer - Manage the salon, bring new life to the team, and help shape the future. Liam jumped in without hesitation.
And so began a new chapter. With Tony’s experience and Liam’s drive, the salon flourished. The team grew, the energy shifted, and a new standard was set, one that quietly raised the bar for hairdressing in the city.
Two years in, came the inevitable conversation.
Tony asked, “What’s next?”
Liam, 28 and full of ambition, replied, “I think it’s time I opened my own salon.”
Tony didn’t flinch. “You could. Or… you could keep building this one, and eventually make it yours.”
With no dramatic decisions, just thoughtful conversations (and the odd pint), this plan unfolded over the next five years. The two kept working side by side, evolving the salon and slowly paving the way for Liam to take the lead.
In the background? Some pretty big stuff. Tony launched his Magic Scissors tour, raising funds and awareness across the UK for communities in Africa. Liam picked up “Manager of the Year” at the British Hairdressing Beauty Awards (after two near misses, third time’s the charm). Together, they travelled from India to Croatia to Lithuania, sharing their knowledge and building a reputation that reached far beyond home turf.
Looking back, Liam says, “It was a wild time. Amazing memories. Working with Tony was one of the highlights of my career.”
