The Last 40 Years — Here’s to the Future
If you’ve been following along over the past couple of months, you’ll know we’ve been on a bit of a reflective journey, revisiting the story of Tony Wood Hairdressing and everything that’s brought us to where we are today.
From the foundation of the building itself, to the moment Tony first stepped through the door, scissors in hand, ready to build something special. From Liam navigating the team through lockdowns and beyond, to Laura working her way from stylist to salon manager, leading with quiet strength and a whole lot of heart.
And, of course, the team, who’ve grown into something truly remarkable. Their work, their energy, their creativity… it’s not just impressive, it’s raised the bar for what a salon experience can be, not just in Portsmouth, but anywhere.
So after all this time reminiscing, the stories, the milestones, the proud (and sometimes chaotic) moments, we’re not here to talk about starting something new. In fact, it’s quite the opposite.
What comes next is about honouring the years that have shaped this space. The foundations (both literal and metaphorical) that have supported decades of style, community, and creativity. We’re not moving away from the past, we’re leaning into it, and giving it new meaning.
Next week, we’ll be sharing something that’s been a long time in the making. Something that brings all of this history into sharper focus. We can't wait to show you what’s coming, but for now, we’ll just say this: it’s not goodbye to what we’ve been, it’s a deeper step into who we’ve always been.
